Lesson Program

Our goal is to educate students on the wonderful world of horses: how they think, learn, and work as a willing partner.  In so doing, we learn much about ourselves: overcoming fears, building confidence, refining skills, and becoming a decisive leader.

Lesson are payable on a monthly basis:

Group Lessons - 1 hour $125 per month (4 weekly lessons) or $40 per lesson

Semi-Private Lessons - 45 minutes $45 per lesson

Private Lessons - 30 minutes $50 per lesson

All lessons must be paid by cash or check (made out to Elm Ridge Stables) prior to the lesson(s).

All new students are required to have a signed registration and waiver form on file.

By the student - If a student, for any reason, has to cancel, the lesson will still be charged; a make-up will be allowed within 1 week of the missed lesson at the instructor's discretion. Only one make-up per month is permitted. If the student does not show without a phone call prior to the lesson, the student will not be allowed a make-up.

Attire - Jeans or riding breeches, boots or shoes with low heels(riding in sneakers is dangerous and should be avoided). Riding helmets are provided; however if a student is serious about his/her riding then the student should purchase their own helmet.

Note - The stable is a place of learning. Parents are responsible for their children. If brothers, sisters, or friends of the students come onto the property, then a parent or other designated adult must strictly supervise these children at all times. The residence and yard are separate from the business and boundaries must be respected.

Warning - Under Texas law (Chapter 87, Civil Practice and Remedies Code), an equine professional is not liable for an injury or death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities.
